News is pouring out regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ahead of its reveal event. We now know the game will be a full premium release, feature its own campaign, multiplayer, co-op, and Zombies modes, and see the return of classic MW2 maps from 2009. Naturally, however, fans are eager to find out when they can play it. The first opportunity for that will be during the inevitable Modern Warfare 3 beta.
Call of Duty news outlet CharlieIntel confirmed on Twitter (via user @HeyImAlaix) that the game’s Vault Edition will include “Early Beta Access” if preordered. The complete Modern Warfare 3 Vault Edition will feature:
- Campaign early access
- Early beta access (if preordered)
- Two new Weapon Vaults
- New Soap operator pack
- Nemesis operator pack with Price, Ghost, Warden, and Makarov skins
- BlackCell with 50 Battle Pass Tier Skips

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta dates
- Beta weekend 1: 6th October 2023 – 10th October 2023 (PS4 & PS5)
- Beta weekend 2: 12th October 2023 – 16th October 2023 (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S & PC)
These dates were reported by Insider Gaming. It’s worth noting that the first beta weekend will be exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
GameSpot has confirmed that the Modern Warfare 3 beta will arrive first on PlayStation. This follows the trend of the previous four Call of Duty betas, each of which arrived on PS4 and PS5 first. MW3 is set to be the final Call of Duty released under Sony’s deal with Activision.
With Microsoft’s much-publicised acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it may be that, in future, Xbox and PC players receive access to Call of Duty betas and campaigns before PlayStation owners. However, that remains to be seen.
The Modern Warfare 3 reveal event is scheduled for 17th August 2023 in Call of Duty: Warzone.
