We’re a couple of weeks removed from the launch of Modern Warfare III (MW3). Players have had plenty of time to check out its campaign, multiplayer and Zombies. Now attention is turning to its upcoming first season and Warzone integration. And the key question on most fans’ minds is “when does Urzikstan come out?”
For anyone unaware, Urzikstan is the new primary map for Call of Duty: Warzone. In the fictional CoD universe, Urzikstan is a middle-eastern country entangled in various conflicts and terrorism. The upcoming Warzone map is based on the city of Zaravan in Urzikstan.
The map is highly anticipated at it bears a strong resemblance to Verdansk, the beloved original Warzone map. It is available to play right now as part of MW3 Zombies (MWZ) and has been well-received by players.
While players can drop into Urzikstan in Zombies, it is not currently playable in Warzone. So, when will it arrive and how will MW3‘s Warzone integration work?
When does Urzikstan come out for Warzone?
Urzikstan is set for release on December 6th 2023 to coincide with the start of Modern Warfare III Season 01.
Its exact launch time is yet to be confirmed. However, CoD seasons usually launch at 9am PT / 5pm GMT / 6pm CET. Therefore, you can reasonably expect Season 01 of MW3 and the Urzikstan map to be released around those times on December 6th.
How will MW3 Warzone integration work?
When Season 01 begins, Warzone will be updated to include the movement mechanics and gameplay of MW3. Activision has confirmed this will include “Slide cancelling, Tac-Stance and more.”
This will come as good news to Warzone fans who have been clamouring for the return of slide cancelling ever since the launch of Warzone 2.0 last year. Similarly, the movement and gameplay of MW3 in multiplayer has been widely praised by the CoD community. So, it’s good to know that Warzone will be following in its footsteps.
Other changes coming to Warzone in Season 01 are being kept relatively quiet for now. However, Activision has announced that horizontal ziplines and a drivable train will be included in the Urzikstan map. There will also be an update to allow “more seamless” squad jumping between MW3 and Warzone. This will surely be useful for squads who like to get some warm-up games in before diving into battle royale.
