Helldivers 2 is the hottest video game in the world right now and Mechs are its most anticipated feature. But when are Mechs coming to Helldivers 2?
Players have been eagerly waiting for Mechs to drop since the game launched last month. The huge robotic exo-suits promise to add a new dimension to the game and fans are understandably very excited to get their hands on them.
While Helldivers 2 Mechs are the topic of much discussion online, official information on them is hard to come by. However, if speculation is to be believed, the Mechs should be dropping fairly soon. But what do we know about them and when are Mechs coming to Helldivers 2?
Everything we know about Mechs in Helldivers 2
What are Mechs?
Mechs are bi-pedal robotic exo-suits that Helldivers can climb inside of and pilot. They have thick armour that offers increased protection against Terminids and Automatons. What’s more, they come complete with their own built-in weapons systems, including rockets and a machine gun.
It is expected that there will be different types of Mech when they are officially released, each with their own combination of weapons and abilities.
How do Mechs work?
Judging from leaked footage, Mechs appear to be deployable Stratagems that players can call in during missions.
This means that they will likely need to be unlocked and then equipped before players can use them in-game. When they’re available, players will need to punch in the specific Stratagem key combination to call them in.

UPDATE:
In a post to X on 5 March, the official Helldivers 2 account said that Mechs will be arriving “soon”.
They wrote: “HELLDIVERS! The EXO-45 Patriot Exosuits are in full production in the factories of Tien Kwan. Ready for deployment on the battlefield soon!”
No further information, including a specific release date, was given.

No official release date has been given for the release of Mechs in Helldivers 2. However, they have been officially confirmed by the “Report for Duty” trailer which dropped on 31 January and explained that Mechs are “Coming soon after launch.” When exactly this will be is currently unclear.
The good news is Mechs will likely be dropping very soon. We know this because players have been seeing Mechs in the game and sharing footage of them online. Presumably, the Mechs are piloted by play-testers who are testing them out in a live environment.
What’s more, an Arrowhead dev said on Discord that “Mechs have been good to go for a while,” and explained, “there’s still some additional polishing being done by people who can’t assist with server issues”.
