DMZ is Call of Duty: Warzone‘s popular extraction mode. With Season 4 coming very soon – 14th June 2023 to be precise – DMZ is set to receive a significant amount of new content. This includes the brand new Vondel map, Urgent Missions, and an out-of-game Wallet. But perhaps one of the most notable additions is the Forward Operating Base. But what is the Forward Operating Base coming to DMZ in Season 4?
Warzone 2.0‘s DMZ mode is still in beta, but it has grown significantly since it first launched in November 2022. Infinity Ward has introduced new content with each new season. Most recently, DMZ received a second exclusive map – the Koschei Complex.
A crafting system – known as ‘Barter’ – has also been added, as well as the ability to upgrade contraband weapons. Players can also make use of enhanced armor vests and backpacks which add further strategic dynamics to the game.
So, how will the Forward Operating Base (FOB) change DMZ?
What is the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in DMZ Season 4?
The Forward Operating Base is a new menu system in DMZ that acts as central hub for communications and Operator upgrades.
According to Activision, it “allows Operators to complete objectives to earn a variety of upgrades to use across DMZ.” Upgrades are split into four separate catergories:
- Stash: Wallet and Key Stash size increases.
- Weapons Locker: Insured and contraband armaments and upgrades.
- Bounty Board: For Exfil, Bartering recipes, and Buy Station discounts.
- Communications Station: Allowing Urgent Mission access.
Activision has also confirmed that any Operator upgrades you earn are “passive”, meaning they don’t need to be equipped before each deployment in order to use them.
With these confirmed features, the FOB is sure to further deepen the DMZ experience.
