This Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 guide explains what a Secure Backpack does in DMZ.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0‘s DMZ mode is very different to standard battle royale. Initially, interest in DMZ was relatively minimal. However, over time, players have gravitated to the extraction mode and view it as a fun and less stressful alternative.

While the mode is still in beta, it has received fresh content with each new season. DMZ has also benefitted from significant changes and enhancements that have helped develop it into a more fleshed out game mode.

In DMZ, players are equipped with backpacks. They come in small, medium, and large sizes. Backpacks are important as they enable the collection and extraction of loot and weapons. Warzone 2.0 Season 3 introduced two new types of backpack into DMZ. They were the Scavenger and Secure backpacks.

But what does a Secure Backpack do in DMZ?

What does a Secure Backpack do in DMZ?

This is what a Secure Backpack does:

A Secure Backpack allows you to secure items between deployments. This means you will hold on to any non-Contraband and non-on-soldier items that would typically convert to XP after extraction. You will also retain items in your inventory if you die while using a Secure Backpack.

It is arguably one of the most useful pieces of gear for this reason. However, they have limited capacity so you will have to choose what to extract with wisely.

Secure Backpack recipe

The easiest method of acquiring a Secure Backpack in DMZ is to simply kill another operator that has one. Once they are dead, you can take it.

However, because Secure Backpacks are quite rare, you may want to craft one for yourself instead. This can be done using DMZ’s barter system.

But to craft the backpack, you need the correct ‘ingredients’ to complete its ‘recipe’.

This is the Secure Backpack recipe in DMZ:

  • 1x Gold Skull
  • 1x Gas Can
  • 1x Electric Drill

Once you have all three items, visit a Buy Station and use the barter system to craft the Secure Backpack.

Now you have the Secure Backpack, you can start carrying items between separate runs with ease. But be careful – if you are killed and your backpack is stolen, you will have to get another one.
