Warzone Not Installed: How to fix Manage Files bug (Season 5)

Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 has arrived. It promises lots of new content, as well as the reveal of Call of Duty 2023 (rumoured to be Modern Warfare III). But, as usual, the latest season isn’t without its technical issues. Players are getting an error message stating “Warzone Not Installed” which requires you to “Manage Files”.

While the solution seems straightforward, it isn’t as simple as just reinstalling Warzone. After selecting “Manage Files”, players have the option of selecting Modern Warfare II or Warzone. Warzone will be listed as “Not Installed”. It appears you should be able to simply select Warzone and trigger its installation.

However, players are encountering an issue where Warzone just won’t install. And if you can’t get it to install, you can’t play it.

So, how do you fix the “Manage Files” bug in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone?

Warzone Not Installed: Manage Files bug fix

This is how to fix the “Warzone Not Installed” and “Manage Files” bug:

On the “Manage Files” screen, select Modern Warfare II. Next, select Campaign, Multiplayer or Co-op. This should trigger the download and installation of any missing Modern Warfare II and Warzone update files.

Once these files have downloaded and installed, you should be able to play Warzone as normal.

The cause of this issue is unclear, however it appears to be related to additional content packs being required for Warzone before it can be played. Exactly why the Warzone content pack doesn’t download when selected is unknown.

Thankfully, the fix is relatively straightforward and just requires some patience and a couple of restarts.

I am still experiencing this issue and have tried everything.
I have downloaded all of the files at least 10 times, restarted wifi, internet, checked my internet connections, deleted file in my external storage, .
Not sure what else to try.

I’m also having issues – cannot get it to recognize that Warzone is loaded – it shows as installed in my Storage and on my log of downloads but I cannot play Warzone as it says I still need to install the file. I’ve even deleted the whole game and reinstalled but no joy !

Activision is useless…. install install install, manage manage manage. They can’t fix anything, or fix one thing but fucks up something else badly!!!

Done all of the above – and actually went so far as to factory reset my PS4. Total failure.
