This guide explains what Active Duty Operator Slots are in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0‘s DMZ mode.

The wait for Warzone 2.0 season 3 is almost over. It’s always an exciting time when a new season rolls around in Call of Duty. And fans are looking forward to plenty of new content to dive into.

Warzone‘s popular DMZ mode isn’t being left out in the cold either. In fact, the mode is receiving something of an overhaul with a significant batch of new content and features.

As part of DMZ’s upcoming enhancements, Active Duty Operator Slots are being incorporated into the game. But what are they, how do they work, and will they change the way you play DMZ?

What are Active Duty Operator Slots in Warzone DMZ Season 3?

This is what Active Duty Operator Slots do in DMZ:

The slots are separate operators with their own armor plate vest, killstreak, backpack, gas mask, self-revive, dog tag, and exfil streak. Players can select which operator they want to use before each deployment in DMZ depending on their objectives.

The feature allows players to be more tactical when infiltrating in DMZ. An example of how players may want to use their operator slots was provided in the official Season 3 blog:

“You can have one Active Duty Operator saved up for the major Story Missions and Building 21 runs, stacked up with a Three-Plate Carrier, Self-Revive Kit, and more, then have another that is built for scavenging items with nothing but a One-Plate Carrier to their name.”

While DMZ receives minimal criticism compared to the rest of Warzone 2.0, fans are often frustrated when all their special in-game items and streak are lost after dying or failing to exfil.

These new operator slots should help avoid this issue, particularly if you don’t want to risk losing valuable equipment during inconsequential deployments. Players will initially have three slots to use.

It should also allow players to bounce back more quickly from failed deployments. Rather than starting over from scratch, you can simply select an operator that already has the best gear. And we all know there’s nothing worse than scrambling for a two-plate vest and medium backpack while trying to avoid hordes of AI enemies.
