A frustrating cash bug in Call of Duty: Warzone can prevent players from purchasing items at buy stations, Downtime Bros has discovered.
The exact cause of the bug is unknown. However, it risks disrupting the flow of games and can jeopardise player success during critical in-game moments.
Buy stations in Warzone – CoD‘s incredibly popular battle royale game – are used to purchase items and killstreaks. This includes equipment that is considered borderline essential, such as Loadout Drop Markers, Self-Revives, UAVs, Armor Plates, Gas Masks, and much more.
Players purchase from buy stations using the in-game currency called “Cash”. To earn cash, players must loot it from crates, find it scattered throughout the map, or complete contracts. Acquiring cash is a central objective of the mode and it can be difficult to win without it.
The recently identified cash bug was noticed and screenshotted (as seen below) during a Warzone play session. The bug caused the incorrect amount of cash to appear next to the player’s nameplate in the bottom left corner of the screen. When attempting to spend cash at a buy station, the player was unable to do so despite having $3340.
The true amount of cash was displayed at the top of the buy station screen as $70.
To fix the bug, the player had to collect more cash which reset their total to the correct amount. While this bug alone isn’t game-breaking, it is yet another annoying gameplay issue impacting the player experience in Warzone. With a long list of bugs, Warzone has a tendency to irritate its dedicated player base and discourage them from playing – particularly when these issues cost them victories.
It is currently unknown if Activision and Raven Software are aware of the issue and what is being done to resolve it.
