Warzone 2.0: How To Get Three Armor Plates

Players about to drop in in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

This guide explains how to get three armor plates in Warzone 2.0.

More than two and half years have passed since the launch of the original Call of Duty: Warzone. Millions of players have passed through Verdansk and Caldera, and thousands of hours have been spent fleeing the dreaded gas. But now Warzone 2.0 has arrived at last – and it has brought some big changes with it.

The revamped battle royale mode introduces a brand-new map. Gone are Verdansk and Caldera. Now fans can look forward to dropping in to Al Mazrah for the first time.

Al Mazrah is set to incorporate many of the locations from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II‘s multiplayer and campaign modes.

Warzone 2.0 will not only give players a new map to explore. It will also introduce a host of new gameplay features.

These include a new 2v2 Gulag, Circle Collapse, new vehicles, and a dedicated 3rd person playlist. On top of that, Warzone 2.0 is also set to feature the brand-new DMZ mode – Call of Duty‘s take on Escape from Tarkov.

Warzone 2.0 is also making some more minor changes to the way things work in battle royale. Many of which players might not even notice for weeks to come.

However, one more significant change is the way in which armor plates are acquired in Warzone 2.0.

In the original Warzone, players would start each game with three armor plate slots. All they had to do was find the plates and put them in. Nice and simple.

However, in Warzone 2.0 players only start with two armor plate slots. And that’s left people asking how to get three armor plates.

So, let’s go over how to get three armor plates in Warzone 2.0

How To Get Three Armor Plates in Warzone 2.0

Thankfully, getting 3 armor plates is relatively straightforward. But being as you only start with 2, it just means you’re at a disadvantage initially.

Getting three armor plates works similarly to the armor vest that could be found in the original Warzone that expanded your inventory to eight plates.

This is how to get three armor plates in Warzone 2.0: To get three armor plate slots, players must obtain a 3-Plate Armor Vest by completing one of the three methods detailed below.

Option 1 – Loot

This one is pretty obvious. Probably the easiest (but not guaranteed) way of getting three armor plate slots is to simply drop in and loot up.

The 3-Plate Armor Vest can be found in crates or on shelves in buildings – basically anywhere you normally find loot.

Be aware that it is a rare item, so there is no guarantee you will find it. As a result, this method can be time-consuming and ultimately fruitless.

Option 2 – Safecracker Contracts

Safecracker contracts are basically the Scavenger contracts. However, they involve finding and blowing open safes instead of simple loot boxes.

Like before, there are three safes to find and open. After opening the third safe, the contract will be complete and you will be rewarded with a 3-Plate Armor Vest.

While this method of getting three armor plates is more involved, it is guaranteed.

Option 3 – Strongholds

Strongholds are areas filled with AI enemy soldiers. There are 77 possible strongholds in the game; however, only three spawn in at a given time.

When players arrive at a Stronghold they are given an objective. This objective could be to clear out all enemies or to defuse a bomb, for example.

When the objective is complete, players can open a special loot crate. That crate often drops rare loot like Durable Gas Masks and 3-Plate Armor Vests. Best of all, they also allow you to pick your custom loadout.

And there you have it – now you know how to get 3 armor plates in Warzone 2.0.
