This guide explains how to change graphics modes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The long wait is over and fans can finally play an enhanced version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Witcher 3 next-gen update arrived on 14 December and now players are getting stuck in.

In case you’ve been living under a rock since 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the acclaimed action role-playing game from Polish developer CD Projekt Red.

It made CD Projekt Red arguably the most lauded video game developer in the industry. Unfortunately, all of this goodwill vanished following the calamitous release of Cyberpunk 2077.

But there’s no doubt the company has been working hard to resurrect its reputation. Following numerous updates, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally in a satisfactory state. CD Projekt even announced a new expansion – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – at The Game Awards.

And the good work has carried over to The Witcher 3, too. Those who have already played The Witcher 3‘s next-gen update are calling it a worthy re-release with lots of improvements over the original version.

New features include re-jigged controls, new content inspired by The Witcher Netflix series, photo mode, cross progression, enhanced visuals, and two graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

One of the first things players on PS5 and Xbox will want to do is find their preferred graphics mode. So, let’s go over how to change graphics modes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update.

While consoles still don’t have anywhere near the options that PC players have when it comes to graphics, next-gen games often come with at least two graphics modes to choose from on console.

The Witcher 3 next-gen update is no different. It offers players two modes: ‘Performance’ (which targets 60FPS) and ‘Ray Tracing’ (which targets 30FPS with enhanced visual fidelity).

Changing between graphics modes is easy. But when you launch the game for the first time, it’s easy to get lost in the menus. So, let’s go through it step-by-step.

This is how to change graphics modes in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update:

There’s no selection for Frame rate mode, I’ve updated to version 4.0 in my PS5 but there’s no frame rate mode under the graphics screen. Does anybody knows how to fix this?

Same problem here but Mr. Harby is right. I don’t have the PS5 version yet.
