Cosplaying is one way that die-hard fans express their passion for a movie or video game that they love. If they took part in cosplay, most people’s parents would raise an eyebrow and wonder what in the world their kid was up to. However, one fan of The Last of Us has done an incredible cosplay as Ellie – and she’s roped her parents in as Joel and Tess, too!
Posting to Reddit, @dabbucosplay shared the photoshoot that she did with her parents last year to celebrate the launch of The Last of Us TV series.
The professional photos show the three dressed up as Ellie, Joel, and Tess while replicating memorable scenes and poses from the video game. Not only have they nailed the clothing, the trio also look uncannily similar to their digital counterparts.
In the first The Last of Us game, Joel and Tess are tasked with transporting Ellie to the Fireflies. Unfortunately, Tess mates a premature end when she is bitten on their journey. Thankfully, this photoshoot went ahead without an interruption by Clickers.
In the comments, The Last of Us fans were super impressed by the cosplay. “Dude what the sh*t these are so good,” wrote one Redditor.
Another said: “I usually skip on by when I see ‘check out my cosplay’ posts. But I saw the first one and it looked almost like a screenshot from the game until I looked closer. These are straight up amazing!”
Dabbucosplay attributed the success of the pictures to the photographer. “All the credit for the pictures go to @pizatofotografia, his work is amazing!!”
I’ll admit, the cosplay is one of best I’ve ever seen. The fact it involves parents somehow makes it even more impressive. As one person put it, “You have cool parents.”
