We are now mid-way through Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0‘s fourth season. And that can only mean one thing. Season 04 Reloaded is right around the corner. It launches on Wednesday 12 July and features the long-rumoured crossover with The Boys. As part of the exciting collaboration, a Temp V field upgrade are being introduced in Warzone.

In the universe of The Boys, the mysterious serum known as Compound V is used to transform ordinary people into superheroes. An alternative (albeit unstable) serum was also created called Temp V. Unlike Compound V, Temp V’s effects wear off after 24 hours.

Temp V grants people super abilities of equal power as Compound V – and it will be available in Warzone as a field upgrade. Of course, these powers have serious clutch potential and will likely help you turn the tide if things aren’t going your way.

So, what do we know about this new The Boys-inspired field upgrade coming in Season 04 Reloaded?

What is Temp V field upgrade in Warzone Season 4 Reloaded?

The new Temp V field upgrade grants players one of four random powers when consumed. The power will then appear in your field upgrade slot and can be activated whenever you choose. The four possible Temp V powers are as follows:

Charge Jump – Operators who love fast movement techniques — or maybe remember a Haunting or two —know how much a Charge Jump propels them across the map in leaps and bounds. Just like Queen Maeve, an Operator doesn’t suffer any fall damage when they land from a Charge Jump; in fact they deal splash damage to anyone or anything within a short radius of the Operator’s landing spot.

Electric Shockwave – To put it simply, “electricity goes in, blast comes out.” This shockwave sends a powerful electrical explosion that injures Operators and AI Combatants, as well as destroys vehicles and equipment. Think of this as a super-EMP that – like the other abilities – can help turn the tide of teamfights.

Laser Vision: Upon activation, an Operator levitates and fires a laser beam that sears through enemy targets in whatever direction they are looking. It’s just like one of many powers that Homelander has, but it does leave the user open to backfire.

Teleport: Forget normal on-foot navigation throughout Vondel; Teleport warps an Operator upward, which is extremely helpful when trying to escape a fight or move to higher ground. And unlike when Hughie Campbell does it, your Operator Skin isn’t affected in any way – no lost clothing, in other words – whenever this happens.

Activision has confirmed that if you are killed while wielding a Temp V power, you will lose it. Similarly, if you pick up a different field upgrade (such as a munitions box or revive pistol), your powers will disappear.

Temp V will be available in all Warzone playlists and DMZ. It will not be available in Ranked Play. According to Activision, Temp V will be “a lot rarer” in DMZ than battle royale modes.
