Starfield: Unable to dock with The Eye and other stations (Fix)

This guide details a fix for when players are unable to dock with The Eye and other space stations in Starfield.

The long awaited space RPG from Fallout and The Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda has finally arrived. Starfield takes players on a mission across the galaxy to discover the answer to a mystery that could impact the entire universe.

Much of Starfield is spent exploring the vast number of planets and moons that make-up the Milky Way galaxy. However, almost as much of the game takes place in space, aboard ships or stations.

To get aboard space stations, players need to dock their ship in a stations docking bay. While this might sound simple enough, I found it difficult to do.

For me, the dock button prompt (R on PC and X on Xbox) did not appear when it should. That has left me circling space stations (including The Eye) trying to get the dock prompt to appear.

I felt as if I’d tried everything – but the solution was simpler than I thought.

In my experience, this is how to fix the issue when you are unable to dock with The Eye and other stations in Starfield: To dock with The Eye and other stations, you must first select it. To do this, aim at the station and press E on PC or A on Xbox.

Once the station has been selected, the dock button prompt will appear. Hold R on PC or X on Xbox to dock. You can then board the space station.

If you are unable to select the space station, fly to a different angle and try again. The exact angle doesn’t matter as docking is done automatically, you just need to get the dock prompt to appear by selecting the station.

As you’ve probably deduced, the docking issue isn’t a bug or glitch. It’s just a common mistake that players are making as they are getting used to Starfield.
