Starfield: Survey Magnar in Delta Pavonis – Find Fauna

Magnar in Starfield

This Starfield guide explains how to find the sixth and final fauna for the survey on Magnar in Delta Pavonis.

After years of waiting, Starfield has touched down on Xbox and PC. Bethesda’s new RPG takes players across the galaxy to explore new worlds and solve a mystery that could have implications for the whole universe.

Since I embarked on my journey, I’ve travelled to hundreds of different planets. Some of them contained valuable resources, and others were home to interesting plant and animal life.

To discover everything a planet or moon has to offer, you must complete a survey. Sometimes, surveys appear as missions that you can complete for a financial reward.

With each planet having its own unique creatures, finding them all can be a challenge. I know I’ve struggled to find everything and have spent more time than I’d like to admit running around aimlessly.

Early on in the game, I took on the mission to survey Magnar in the Delta Pavonis system. Like me, a lot of players are finding the survey relatively simple until they get to the sixth and final fauna on Magnar. This fauna (species) is proving particularly hard to find.

Let’s go over how to find the sixth and final fauna to complete the survey of Magnar in Delta Pavonis.

This is where I found the last fauna for the survey on Magnar in Delta Pavonis in Starfield: The Swarming Saturnine fish can be found in the Swamp (Coastal) biome.

To locate this biome, look for the Swamp biome on the planet map. Next, find a lake or sea in the biome, the coast line should be denoted as a coastal region. Land your ship here.

After landing, head to the shore/coast line. With your scanner open, look towards the sea and walk down the coast. Eventually, the scanner should pick up the Swarming Saturnine fish.

Continue to search for more specimens until the scanner reaches 100%.

The best way to identify which areas you need to search for flora and fauna is to look on the planet map and identify which biomes are not 100% complete. This means there is something else to find.
