Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game that sees you stranded in a dense forest inhabited by murderous cannibals and mysterious creatures. After your helicopter crash lands, you and fellow survivor Kelvin must scavenge what you can, craft weapons, and build shelters in order to survive.
The game can be played as a testing single-player experience or in co-operative multiplayer. Either way, you need to overcome everything the forest throws at you by travelling far and wide to uncover its secrets.
Scavenging for resources is a big part of Sons of the Forest. Rudimentary materials can be combined into weapons, tools, and structures. These can then be used to streamline your survival experience and give you some respite from the harsh enviroment.

Sons of the Forest features numerous different crafting and building systems depending on the item or structure you want to create.
This can lead to some confusion, especially when you are first starting out with the game.
Unlike buildings, the bed (and other furniture) is created by adding materials to a pre-positioned outline.
Thankfully, the survival handbook provides you with the recipes you need to create all the essentials.
This is how to build a bed in Sons of the Forest: The bed requires x16 sticks and x1 roll of duct tape.
To build it, open the Survival Handbook and hold X to switch mode. Navigate to ‘Furniture’ and select ‘Stick Bed’.
Place the outline of the Stick Bed in your desired location. Once it is in position, approach the outline and add resources using the ‘E’ key.
After it has been constructed, you can use the bed for sleeping and saving.
