This Rust guide explains how to get stone.

Rust has been around for several years. It first arrived in Early Access back in 2013 before receiving its full release in 2017.

Despite its age, Rust continues to regularly feature in Steam’s best sellers and most popular games charts. That’s because it’s still attracting new players even after all this time – and it’s easy to see why.

Rust‘s concept is quite appealing. It is a multiplayer-only survival game with a strong emphasis on a realistically punishing grind.

You start out with nothing and must survive for as long as you can by crafting tools and weapons, building a base, and raiding other players. It’s the ultimate endurance test.

However, getting started in Rust isn’t easy. Not only is it full of other more advanced players, but the game does very little hand holding. There’s no tutorial. And that means new players will struggle to understand even the basics of the game.

In the early game, it’s essential to get raw materials and resources as quickly as you can. But exactly how you do that isn’t immediately clear.

One of the first things players need to figure out is how to get Stone. Stone is fundamental in crafting tools and building bases.

You might’ve found yourself approaching random rock faces and smashing at them to no avail. Unfortunately, getting Stone isn’t quite that easy.

So, let’s go over how to get Stone in Rust

How To Get Stone in Rust

As mentioned, Stone is a fundamental resource in Rust. It’s needed for so many things and it’s virtually impossible to play without it.

Thankfully, when you know how to get it, Stones are relatively easy to come by. In fact, they are abundant in the world of Rust.

This is how to get Stone in Rust: Approach a Stones node (large rock with jagged edges and a sparkle/glow) and hit it with your Rock or Pickaxe. Stone will automatically be added to your inventory as you mine the Node.

Small Stone rocks can also be found on the ground. These can simply be collected and added to your inventory without mining.

Alternatively, you can farm Stone by setting up a Mining Quarry. These automatically extract Stones and ores from the location in which they are placed. Mining Quarrys require Low Grade Fuel to operate.

And there you have it – now you know how to get Stone in Rust.

Resources are a commodity in the game, so be sure to stash them safely at your earliest convenience to avoid another player stealing them.
