In Chapter 3 of Resident Evil 4 remake – “The Lake” – players must find a way to cross the large lake. The only way to do this is by boat. And while there is a boat in the Quarry, it’s out of fuel so it can’t be used.
To use the boat, players must find boat fuel. A note can be found that hints at the boat fuel’s location, however its exact whereabouts might not be clear if you don’t know where to look.
On your way to secure the boat fuel, you’ll also encounter a number of enemies that can make things even harder. So, follow the below steps if you want to know where to go to find fuel for the boat.
Where to get boat fuel in Resident Evil 4 remake
This is where to get boat fuel in Resident Evil 4 remake: The boat fuel is located in the processing building at the Fish Farm. To get to the Fish Farm, head through the cave passageway west of the dock. Climb the ladder to reach it. The Fish Farm is on the other side of the passageway.
When you arrive at the Fish Farm, you will fall through a wooden walkway into some shallow water. If you check your map, you will see a boat fuel marker on the far west side of the Fish Farm – head towards it. Numerous enemies will be patrolling the Fish Farm, including a Brute. You should try to take enemies out using stealth attacks to avoid detection.
If you get overwhelmed, try using grenades to thin the herd or flash grenades to temporarily stun them and escape.
Unfortunately, the Fish Farm is a bit of a maze and your route through the area to the boat fuel isn’t immediately obvious. On the map below, we’ve highlighted the correct route to take through the Fish Farm.
Make your way to the processing building through the water and over the walkways. Some of the walkways are rigged with explosive tripwires so look out for those and be sure to disarm them.
Once you reach the processing building, shoot the lock off the door to enter. The boat fuel is in a large red canister on a table.
Once you have the fuel, return to the boat at the dock and travel across the lake.
