Resident Evil 4: How to open Audience Chamber square lock box

This guide explains how to open the Square Lock Box in the Audience Chamber in Resident Evil 4 remake.

Locked boxes and crates are everywhere in Resident Evil 4 remake. And when you reach Chapter 7 – “The Castle” – you’ll discover one you haven’t seen before. It’s called the Square Lock Box.

The lock box is located in the northwest corner of the Audience Chamber. When you interact with it, you’ll see that you need something specific to unlock it. But exactly what that item is isn’t clear.

It’s worth noting that the lock box in the Audience Chamber isn’t the only one. They are found throughout the Castle, however this is the first one you discover.

With that being said, if you’ve just found the Audience Chamber’s lock box, you’ll no doubt want to know how to open it.

How to open Square Lock Box in Audience Chamber in RE4 remake

This is how to open the Square Lock Box in the Audience Chamber in Resident Evil 4 remake: You must find and use the Cubic Device.

This is some distance away from the Audience Chamber and you’ll need to reach Chapter 9 before you can collect it.

The Cubic Device is located in the corridor leading from the Armory to the Grand Hall. You will go there while solving the headless statue puzzle.

Once you’ve collected the golden lion head, leave the Armory by using the levers on the centaur statues with Ashley. In the following corridor, you will see a crate. Inside is the Cubic Device.

If you return to the Audience Chamber, you can use it to open the lock box there.
