Activision has confirmed that players who have been permanently banned from playing previous Call of Duty games will be unable to play Black Ops 6 when it launches later this year.
Per the official Activision support page, Activision ID accounts that were permanently banned from previous titles starting with 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PC and console, as well as Warzone Mobile, “may not be eligible to play Black Ops 6“.
Activision also confirmed that Battle.net accounts banned on Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone will not be able to buy Black Ops 6 on the Blizzard Digital Store.
Finally, it warned that previously banned players might be able to purchase and download digital versions of Black Ops 6 on Xbox, PlayStation, Microsoft Store, and Steam, but that they will not be able to enjoy the game’s online modes.
Of course, this is only bad news if your account has been banned due to your actions in previous CoD games. If you’ve been playing fair and square, haven’t been abusive, and haven’t violated any of the other rules in the ‘Call of Duty Security and Enforcement Policy’, you’ll be absolutely fine.
The news follows the ruling that cheat provider EngineOwning must pay Activision $15 million in damages in a huge blow to those that enjoy circumventing the rules to compensate for their lack of skill in the game.
