Every gamer knows the pain of getting caught in a random glitch and dying because of it. Nowhere is this more painful than in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 where a freak accident can have you shipped off to the gulag or – even worse – back to the menus. Warzone 2.0 has had its fair share of bugs and glitches since launch but many still persist in the game – one such glitch is causing players to get stuck on one specific ladder.
With no way to get off the sticky rungs, players are left clinging for their lives waiting for an inevitable enemy operator to arrive and put them out of their misery.
The ladder in question is located in the Sawah Village area of Al Mazrah. The base of the ladder is submerged in the water that covers the flooded settlement. When players approach the ladder and start to climb, they quickly find that they are unable to move up or down.
Reddit user u/Addwolves posted a clip of his experience with the glitch to the r/DMZ subreddit. To accompany the video, he wrote: “I got stuck on the ladder until eventually someone came and shot me. I have been slightly stuck before but alway [sic] managed to release myself but not this time.”
Having experienced this glitch firsthand, I can vouch for its existence. In the comments section, other players also corroborated u/Addwolves story. One user wrote, “I’ve gotten stuck there twice.” Another said, “Same happened to me yesterday.”
Thankfully, helpful members of the community provided their tips for how to get off if you do get stuck and how to avoid getting trapped in the first place.
u/SudsierBoar explained that if you’re in a squad it is possible to escape. “If you got teammates they can bump you off it it with a vehicle,” they said. Someone else added that it is possible to let the AI down you while stuck on the ladder and then have a teammate revive you.
To avoid getting caught in the glitch in the first place, u/MTB430 explained that players must “jump on the concrete ledge next to the ladder and enter the ladder from the right side instead of straight on.”
Despite the useful advice, players were agreed on one thing: if you get stuck and are playing solo, then you are pretty much finished. So, best avoid the ladder entirely.
