October free PS Plus games have been revealed early, according to a new report. In what’s becoming a trend of monthly leaks, we now know which titles to expect for PS4 and PS5 next month. Sony haven’t provided official confirmation just yet. But if the latest information is accurate, October will bring a decent offering of free games.

These games will likely surprise some, as there hasn’t been much recent publicity around them. And after a few months of fairly underwhelming games provided via PS Plus, this crop could make for a refreshing change. The titles are pretty varied too, so they should keep you busy until November rolls around. So, what are the free PlayStation Plus games for October?

October free PS Plus games – What are they?

It seems like every month we’re hearing what the next lot of free PlayStation Plus games are before Sony have officially announced them. And this month is no different thanks to Dealabs. Apparently, they’ve accurately confirmed free PS Plus games ahead of time before. And according to them, they’ve verified this month’s rumours. So, it’s a safe bet this confirmed list of games is legit. Here they are:

Mortal Kombat X (PS4)

First up for October is Mortal Kombat X. I’m sure most people know what this is. It’s NetherRealm Studios’ successful 2015 fighting game, which received critical praise upon its release. Some even called it the best fighting game of the year. Of course, Mortal Kombat is well-known for its brutal, gory violence and familiar fighters. However, Mortal Kombat X is now over six years old and Mortal Kombat 11 has since been released. So while it’s tough to complain about free stuff, there’s no denying it would’ve been better to get the most recent instalment in the series instead.

PGA Tour 2K21 is the latest golf game in the PGA Tour 2K series. It released last year on 21st August 2020 and was well-received for its realism and difficulty options.

Hell Let Loose is the free PS5 game for October. It’s a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter set in World War II. It started life as a kickstarter campaign before fully launching on PC in July this year. It’s due to be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 5th October, so PS Plus subscribers will be getting their hands on a brand new game with this one.
