Nintendo Direct saw a raft of games announced for later this year and next including some big titles for Switch players to get excited about.

The show kicked off with Mario & Luigi: Brothership – a new RPG game starring the two legendary brothers – that is due to launch on 7 November, 2024.

Next up, we got the news that Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, a remaster of the game that originally launched on the Nintendo Wii, is coming out in January 2025.

A HD-2D remake (whatever that means) of Dragon Quest III will arrive later this year, followed by remakes of Dragon Quest I & II next year.

Super Mario Party Jamboree, an all-new game in the Super Mario Party series, is scheduled to launch for the Switch on 17 October.

In probably the biggest news of the showcase, Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – in which Zelda is the main protagonist – for 26 September, 2024. In the game, the Princess uses Echoes to replicate items (such as tables) to aid in her quest to save Hyrule.

In a pretty awesome crossover, Lego Horizon Adventures, a Lego game based on PlayStation’s Horizon series, is coming to the Switch in the Holiday season.

In September, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is arriving on the console.

Finally, in a dramatic conclusion, Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Initially announced at E3 2017, Metroid Prime 4 is scheduled for release in 2025, 18-years after the release of Metroid Prime 3.
