The wait for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is almost over and now new images of the much-anticipated DLC have been leaked online.

FromSoftware has already treated fans to gameplay and story trailers, which provide extensive looks at the expansion. However, these new images are sure to whet players’ appetites even more.

The pictures appear to show never-before-seen perspectives of locations already shown in the aforementioned trailers. They have been widely shared via ResetEra, as well as other websites and forums.

In Shadow of the Erdtree, players will travel to a world called the “Land of Shadow”, which is separate from the base game’s Lands Between.

Once there, fans can expect a “further-deepened RPG” experience, complete with “new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic”. FromSoftware will also add “new enemies, boss encounters and plotlines” as part of the DLC.

While there are few significant details regarding its plot, Bandai Namco describes Shadow of the Erdtree as a “new story”. Its official synopsis reads as follows:

“Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot. In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.”

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 21 June 2024. It has big shoes to fill but, considering what we’ve seen so far, we’re confident FromSoftware will rise to the occasion.
