DMZ is about to receive its biggest update yet as part of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 3. The popular extraction mode is being “overhauled”. And some welcome additions come in the form of new armor plate carriers for players to use in Season 3.
Much-like the rest of Warzone 2.0, armor plates are a central part of the game. Players begin a DMZ infiltration with a one-plate carrier (unless they’ve previously extracted a larger one). These are relatively ineffective and provide only limited protection against enemy gunfire.
For better protection, players must scavenge or purchase two or three-plate carriers. Prior to Season 3, these were the only options players had when it came to armor.
But with the launch of Season 3, new armor plater carriers will add an additional dimension to DMZ and how you play it.
What are the new DMZ Season 3 armor plate carriers?
Season 3 will introduce four new types of armor plater carriers. These are the new Season 3 armor plate carriers in DMZ:
- Tempered Plate Carrier
- 3 Plate Medic Vest
- 3 Plate Comms Vest
- Stealth Plate Carrier
Each new carrier provides fresh tactical options for squads in DMZ. So, what do they do?
Tempered Plate Carrier (DMZ Season 3)
The Tempered Plate Carrier was first introduced in the original Call of Duty: Warzone. Typically, armor vests carry up to three plates. Each plate represents a third of the total protection they provide.
A Tempered Plate Carrier switches this up, so you hold two plates which each represent half of the total protection they provide. This makes re-plating far more efficient as you only need to replace two plates instead of three for the same amount of protection.
3 Plate Medic Vest
The 3 Plate Medic Vest is sure to be a favourite among DMZ players. That’s because this armor vest provides fast self-revives and quicker revives on fallen squadmates.
3 Plate Comms Vest
Comms vests supercharge UAVs in DMZ. All types of UAVs – including the killstreak, towers, and enemy radios – last longer and will work as Advanced UAVs while wearing the comms vest.
Players also receive an audio cue from the vest if enemy operators are nearby.
Stealth Plate Carrier
The Stealth Plate Carrier grants players the Ghost Perk. That means you won’t appear on enemy radars and UAVs.
