Leaks are commonplace in gaming these days. And new details about EA’s upcoming Battlefield 2042 have surfaced online way before its release. Reddit user Aaronfrogger managed to access the game early and shared some interesting tidbits about it. Apparently, Aaronfrogger was able play Battlefield 2042 after their Xbox unlocked it ahead of schedule. This gave them an early glimpse of 2042‘s weapons and customisation. So, what exactly was included in the latest Battlefield 2042 leak?

Battlefield 2042 customisation

Aaronfrogger took to Reddit and shared some images of his ‘early-access experience’. This included a picture of the Battlefield 2042 weapons customisation screen. It clearly shows the ability to change a gun’s sight, ammunition, underbarrel, and barrel. It also includes a “hardware appearance” tab at the top. This will presumably enable players to apply different aesthetic options to their weapons.

Weapons

The Battlefield 2042 leak also provided some insight into the Battlefield 2042 weapons available to players. Aaronfrogger shared a pic of the gun selection in the game’s All Out Warfare mode specifically. Judging from the image, it will include 22 weapons:

  • Three secondary weapons.
  • Four SMGs.
  • Four assault rifles.
  • Two LMGs.
  • Three marksman rifles.
  • Three sniper rifles.
  • Three utility weapons.

By comparison, DICE previously confirmed the new Battlefield Portal mode will include “40+ Weapons from 3 Theaters of War”.

What else did we learn from the leak?

Aaronfrogger treated Reddit users to a quick look at some in-game action. One image shows Aaronfrogger looking at skyscrapers. In another, they appear to be in a desert map following a tank and plane. And a third image provides an impressive aerial shot of a map from the comfort of a helicopter.
