This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies (MWZ) guide explains how to freeze Hellhounds for the Freezer Burn mission.

After a successful multiplayer beta and a not-so successful campaign, the full version of MW3 has arrived. The complete package comes with the very first Zombies experience in Modern Warfare history. The mode essentially repurposes DMZ and features a multitude of missions for players to complete.

One of these is “Freezer Burn”. This mission is the first Tier 3 mission of Act I. It requires players to slow 50 zombies with the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod. Once that’s done, you need to slow 10 Hellhounds with the same mod.

In MWZ, ammo mods provide different elemental effects for weapons when equipped. As its name suggests, Cryo Freeze freezes zombies and slows them down. This part of the mission is pretty easy; however, players are struggling to freeze the Hellhounds.

While it might appear that this is the game failing to track the mission progress, it is actually because of Hellhounds’ low health.

So, let’s take a look at how to freeze Hellhounds in MWZ for the “Freezer Burn” mission?

How to freeze Hellhounds in Zombies (MWZ) – Freezer Burn

This is how to freeze Hellhounds in Modern Warfare III Zombies (MWZ) for the Freezer Burn mission: The best way to freeze the requisite 10 Hellhounds is to apply the Cryo Freeze mod to a base level, un-Pack-a-Punched gun and take it into the Level II (orange) area.

This is because Hellhounds in the Level II area have more health. This means they can take more shots thus increasing your chances of freezing them.

How to freeze Hellhounds in Zombies (MWZ)

You can find Hellhounds by getting in a vehicle and driving around. This will cause Hellhounds to spawn randomly – keep an eye out for floating balls of fire.

When one spawns, simply shoot it in single-shot bursts until it freezes. This will count towards mission progress.

Simply rinse and repeat this process until you have done all 10 Hellhounds.
