This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) Zombies guide explains how to get Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in the Automated Backup mission.

Zombies is back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. However, the familiar round-based experience is nowhere to be found. Instead, it’s an extraction-based game mode similar to Warzone‘s DMZ.

This requires players to scavenge weapons and gear from around the Urzikstan map and extract them. Along the way, you also need to complete missions to advance the mode’s story and unlock rewards. Some are straightforward while others are a little more complicated and vague.

One mission like this is “Automated Backup”. It requires players to activate three Deadbolt Turrets using Ammo Mod Circuit Boards.

Unfortunately, acquiring Ammo Mod Circuit Boards isn’t as easy as you might think. Having completed the mission, and acquiring three of them myself, I’ve included the key steps below.

How to get Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in Automated Backup mission (MW3 Zombies)

Ammo Mod Circuit Boards are most likely to be found in loot caches after completing Aether Nests.

However, they are random. That means you are not guaranteed to get an Ammo Mod Circuit Board simply by clearing an Aether Nest in MWZ. You may need to complete multiple Aether Nests in order to get all three Circuit Boards required.

Once you have an Ammo Mod Circuit Board, go to a Deadbolt Turret. They are marked on the map with a small white turret icon. Deposit the Circuit Board into the Deadbolt Turret to activate it. Do this three times and the “Automated Backup” mission will be complete.
