This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) guide explains how to stun special zombies as part of the “Shocked” mission.
Call of Duty Zombies is back in MW3. But in a shift away from tradition, it isn’t quite the same as before. Rather than a round-based experience, MW3 Zombies (MWZ) is an extraction-based looter shooter.
Built on the foundations of Warzone‘s DMZ mode, MWZ focuses on the completion of missions to advance its story and unlock rewards. Split across three acts and divided into tiers, missions range from action-packed to frustratingly repetitive.
Some are also incredibly vague and don’t offer much guidance on how to complete them. One mission like this is “Shocked”, which is a Tier 2 mission in Act II.
“Shocked” requires players to equip their weapon with a Dead Wire Ammo Mod and stun 25 zombies. This is easy enough as there are countless zombies all over Urzikstan in MWZ. A “stun” happens when you shoot a zombie with Dead Wire and it is momentarily covered in electricity and paralysed.
But things get a bit more tricky when you need to complete the mission’s second objective. This requires you to stun five special zombies using Dead Wire. With increased health and a lower spawn rate, stunning special zombies is a challenge.
Having completed this mission, I have found a method that makes this objective fairly straightforward. Check out the steps below.
How to stun special zombies in the Shocked mission (MW3 Zombies)
Equip your weapon with the Dead Wire ammo mod, Pack-a-Punch it once, and head into the orange zone on the map. Ensure you have a three-plate vest, Juggernog, Quick Revive, and a self-revive to make things easier.
Begin either an Outlast or Spore Control contract. These will cause huge numbers of zombies to spawn in the contract area, as well as numerous special zombies.
Special zombies include the Mimic, Mangler, and Disciple. Focus most of your attention of the special zombies and shoot them as much as possible. Disciples have the ability to regain health, so can survive a huge amount of damage. This makes them ideal targets for Dead Wire stuns.
Keep shooting at the special zombies and they will be stunned at random. Remember to clear out the standard zombies if the horde becomes too big, but ensure you do not complete the contract until you have stunned the special zombies enough times.
This method essentially guarantees you will be able to achieve five stuns on special zombies. That’s because they will keep appearing for as long as you keep the contract going. Therefore, you just need to shoot them repeatedly and survive.
