This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) guide explains where to get the Ascender in the Reactor mission.
Those who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III were granted early access to its campaign on 2nd November, a full eight days before the game’s official release. Enthusiastic CoD fans wasted no time diving into the action.
In this latest instalment, players again assume the roles of Task Force 141 members on a global mission to combat the ultranationalist antagonist Vladimir Makarov and his formidable forces. While Call of Duty campaigns have traditionally been synonymous with fast-paced linear missions and spectacular action sequences, MW3 mixes things up.
Rather than a series of on-the-rails missions, the majority of its campaign consists of dynamic “open combat” scenarios, providing players with the freedom to approach these missions in their own way. This new approach includes the ability to collect weapons, field upgrades, equipment, and more. The mission ‘Reactor’ is one such level, where player’s control Captain Price.
As players explore the map to destroy three enemy helicopters, they will encounter various ascend points. However, they can only be utilised once an Ascender has been obtained. If you’re wondering where to find this essential item, having completed the mission myself, I can provide all the details. Check them out below.
Where to get the Ascender in MW3 Reactor mission
The Ascender in the Reactor mission is inside the central garage of the fire station in the south west area of the map. It can be found at map coordinates D6. There is a guard post here with numerous supply crates. The Ascender is on top of a crate to the right.
There are numerous soldiers patrolling inside and outside the fire station, as well as one standing at the guard post itself. Your safest option is to carefully and quietly eliminate them without raising the alarm. Then you can examine the equipment more closely and decide what you want to take.
Once you have the Ascender, you can use it at any of the ascend points during the Reactor mission.
