MTZ Interceptor to receive a nerf, confirms Raven Software

MTZ Interceptor in Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone developer Raven Software has confirmed that the MTZ Interceptor is to receive a rebalance in an upcoming update.

The MTZ Interceptor is a semi-automatic rifle that debuted in Modern Warfare III. Over the past couple of weeks, it has become an established meta thanks to its superb stopping power, pinpoint accuracy and relatively high fire rate.

As with any overpowered and unbalanced weapon, the Interceptor has become a favourite among players and is dominating loadout choices.

The gun currently has the ability to down fully plated enemies in Warzone with just three shots. Its impressive usability at both short and long range makes it difficult to counter.

In a post on X, Raven Software said: “We’ve seen your questions about weapon balance and we’re happy to confirm that an update is coming mid next week. And yes, that includes changes to the MTZ Interceptor!”

The developer did not elaborate on which other weapons would be included in the rebalancing update. They are also yet to confirm when exactly the update will land.
