The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will forever be remembered for its classic multiplayer maps. Almost every single one was a banger and they were home to hours of fun back in the day. Expectations have been high ever since Activision announced the Modern Warfare II reboot a couple of months ago.
But now a leak has confirmed an extensive range of varied maps in the upcoming game – including the return of a classic fan favorite. If this leak is indeed legit (and it appears to be), CoD fans have more reasons than ever to be excited for Modern Warfare II.
Classic Map Favela Returns in Modern Warfare II
This new leak stems from information that has been discovered within Warzone Mobile‘s files. The game, which is also known as Project Aurora, is currently in pre-Alpha testing. While trying out Warzone Mobile, players have uncovered the names of maps included in Modern Warfare II, as well as associated loading screen images.
Twitter user @R3AL1TYUK was the originator of the leaks. However, the user has since removed the posts in response to alleged copyright takedown requests from Activision.
Luckily for fans, the leaker has reposted the images on an alternate account, @RealiityUK, where they remain as of writing.
Included in the leaked list of maps is “Favela”. For those who don’t know, Favela was a map in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. As the name suggests, it took place in and around a Brazilian favela town.
Fans regarded Favela as one of the best maps in MW2. Whether this is an exact remake or a reimagining is unclear. Either way, this is sure to get fans excited.
Leak Reveals All Maps in Modern Warfare II
Alongside Favela are a number of brand new maps.
@RealiityUK has shared the names and images of “Grand Prix”, “Oilfield”, and “Museum”. The names of those three are self-explanatory. There’s also an image of a map codenamed “SABA” which appears to be set somewhere in the middle east. Finally, the user has shared an image of “Farm 18”, which looks like an industrial complex.
On top of images of those four maps, the leaker also shared what seems to be a complete list of codenames for maps in Modern Warfare II. Included in that list are:

Ground War Maps in Modern Warfare II
To top things off, @RealiityUK has shared images of three Ground War maps. They are: “Hydro”, “Fishtown”, and “Sira”.
If the precedent established with Verdansk is followed here, the new Ground War maps will come together to form the larger Warzone 2 map.
