This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) guide explains what Tac Stance is.
MW3 is the latest instalment in Activision’s long-running FPS series. While it has received criticism for its by-the-numbers CoD campaign and failing to innovate, it does introduce some new mechanics.
One gameplay mechanics you will see repeatedly referenced in-game is the Tactical Stance. Getting kills while using it is a recurring weapon camo challenge, and it is also featured as part of MW3‘s daily challenges.
Unfortunately, if you don’t know what the Tactical Stance is, you won’t be able to complete any challenges relating to it. Thankfully, it isn’t a complicated mechanic and it’s really easy to use in MW3.
What is Tac Stance in MW3?
Tactical Stance (commonly called Tac Stance) is a mid-point between hip firing and aiming down sights. It reduces weapon accuracy but increases mobility and handling. When in Tac Stance, the weapon will be held in a cantered position.
Players can toggle in and out of it by pressing down on the d-pad while aiming down sights. Aiming down sights while sliding will also trigger Tac Stance.
It is most effective during close-quarters engagements and is not ideal for fighting enemy players at range.
