It wouldn’t be a brand new Call of Duty season if there weren’t numerous bugs and glitches. They’re commonplace during the first few days following all major CoD updates, and Modern Warfare 3‘s (MW3) first season is no exception. Upon logging into the game on 6 December, many players found all their Armory Unlocks somehow completed by way of a bug.
While bugs in CoD can be incredibly frustrating and may cause you to lose progress, this one does the opposite. Armory Unlocks is a new system in the latest Call of Duty. Players can unlock weapons, perks, killstreaks and more by completing Daily Challenges.
Because only a certain number of Daily Challenges can be completed in a day, players are forced to grind over long periods in order to unlock everything MW3 has to offer. This meant players had to be selective about which items to prioritise in Armory Unlocks.
Curiously, however, a new bug that has appeared since the launch of MW3 Season 1 has caused the automatic completion of all Armory Unlocks for some players. Here at Downtime Bros, we have also experienced this bug.
And while we’re not necessarily complaining, it is a glaring error that has circumvented one of multiplayer’s core systems. But how exactly does the bug work?
Armory Unlocks completed by mystery MW3 Season 1 bug
It is currently unknown what caused the Armory Unlocks bug and no patch has been released to undo or fix it. However, it appears to be related to the integration of MW3 into Warzone.
No doubt, many players will be pleased to skip all the unlocks and have immediate access to everything. You can check whether you have benefitted from the bug by going to the Armory Unlocks screen and checking the completion counter at the top.
If it states “63/63 Completed”, that means all Armory Unlocks have been automatically completed by the Season 1 bug (see the screenshot below). You should now have access to all of these unlockables in MW3, Zombies and Warzone (where applicable).
Numerous CoD players on social media have reported the issue. @BtownThemotoman said on X: “Some bug completed all my armory unlocks”. Similarly, @TheRealGhost125 posted: “Already unlocked every armory unlocks thx to Warzone LOL”.
Whether or not the issue will be fixed and if player progress will be reverted is unclear. However, it is likely the bug will be a top priority for developer Sledgehammer Games as it effectively renders a core part of multiplayer utterly redundant.
