Modern Warfare 3: Enemies Are Too Close fix – Payload mission

Enemies Are Too Close message for the Payload mission in Modern Warfare 3

This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) guide explains how to fix the Enemies Are Too Close message in the Payload mission.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s campaign hasn’t been getting the best reviews from players. However, those that were able to play the game in early access have been getting stuck in nonetheless.

MW3‘s campaign is short and it’s a blend between classic Call of Duty missions and Warzone-like “open combat” missions. While this mixes up the traditional formula, it doesn’t always work too well. However, the game’s best missions are in the classic format.

One such mission is “Payload” which sees Farah and Captain Price infiltrate a Konni missile base.

Towards the end of the mission, the pair find that Konni have loaded one of Farah’s stolen missiles with chemical weapons. They need to stop the launch but unfortunately it is too late.

As a result, they must resort to closing the blast doors on the missile bunker. Some players, myself included, are finding that when they get to the bunker controls a message reading “Enemies Are Too Close” is preventing them from closing the bunker door.

So, let’s take a look at how to fix and get around this message.

How to fix Enemies Are Too Close message for the Payload mission in Modern Warfare 3

This is how to fix the “Enemies Are Too Close” message for the Payload mission in Modern Warfare 3: If you encounter this message, there are still too many enemies in the area. Head back outside and clear out as many as you can before the timer runs out.

After getting rid of the majority of the Konni troops, head back into the control tower and try the bunker door controls again. With the enemy forces depleted, the game should allow you to close the doors.

If you get the message again, eliminate more enemies before having another go on the controls. The first time I attempted this, I had to head back outside twice and eliminate more Konni soldiers before I could proceed.
