Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Screenshots Accidentally Leaked By NFL Players

Why wait to officially reveal a game when an NFL team can accidentally do it for you? Well, that’s exactly what happened with some LA Rams players and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

The highly-anticipated CoD sequel is due to launch in October 2022. But official details about its multiplayer component are scarce.

Lots of information has managed to find its way online, although much of it is unconfirmed. This includes countless rumours about the game’s maps, modes, and more.

Many of the leaks have come from industry-insiders and data miners. In modern gaming, this is to be expected. However, Activision probably didn’t count on NFL players inadvertently sharing screenshots on social media.

Modern Warfare II has big shoes to fill. The original Modern Warfare 2 was a smash-hit and is widely considered the high point of the entire Call of Duty series. That’s because of its awesome and legendary multiplayer mode.

Fans are desperate to see what developer Infinity Ward has done this time round. And this latest leak has given us our first actual glimpse of what we can expect.

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Leaked Screenshots

LA Rams players were able to experience Modern Warfare early at a closed-door event. And while the team were there, some players took to social media to share the fun with followers.

Obviously, they weren’t supposed to do that but eagle-eyed fans saved the tweets.

Multiplayer Lobby

The most intriguing image was shared by LA Rams player Cameron Dicker. It showed the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer lobby.

As you’d expect, it closely resembles other Call of Duty lobbies – especially 2019’s Modern Warfare. But it has clearly been revamped and – pardon the pun – modernised.

Another tweet appears to confirm the existence of Modern Warfare‘s long-rumoured take on Escape from Tarkov. It’s called DMZ – and that’s pretty much all we know right now. But it’s something, at least.

We also got a VERY brief look at Modern Warfare II gameplay. In the following clip, you can see some in-game action featuring a character holding a gun.

Activision probably isn’t thrilled about the leak, but the tweets were quickly removed. This incident could’ve been worse and we probably haven’t seen even a fraction of what the NFL players got to experience.

Until further official reveals, CoD fans will have to wait if they want to see something more in-depth.
