Of course, there’s always the option to change the settings on your TV or monitor. Although, it’s best to find a level that works on your specific device and stick with it, and then only tweak the brightness settings in games themselves.
Even though it appears like there’s no option to change brightness in Modern Warfare 2, it is possible.
This is how to change brightness in Modern Warfare 2. From the main menu, open the options menu (☰) in the top right corner. Navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab (gear icon) and select ‘Quick Settings’. The ‘Brightness’ option is at the bottom under ‘View’. Use the slider to tweak your brightness. The Brightness option is unavailable if you have HDR enabled on your console/PC.
If the Brightness option isn’t there, you need to turn off HDR.
To do this, quit the game, and go to your console/PC’s screen or display settings. Reload the game and the Brightness option will be available in settings.
Be aware that turning HDR off can have a detrimental impact on the look of in-game lighting and colours.
