MGS3 remake may be released in 2025, reliable leaker suggests

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – the long-awaited MGS3 remake – may not be released until 2025, despite initially being slated for a 2024 release.

Konami is yet to confirm the game’s official release date, however promotional material has so far suggested the company was aiming to launch it later this year.

Now, new information from reliable gaming insider billbil-kun has been shared via Dealabs that points to next year. Apparently, a “global distribution giant” has set a “temporary release date” of 12/31/2025.

billbil-kun clarified that they were unable to confirm the 2025 release date with a second source. With that being said, it’s worth taking this news with a pinch of salt until it is confirmed.

It is also highly unlikely the game will launch on December 31st specifically. If it has been pushed back to 2025, it will almost certainly arrive before that date to capitalise on the holiday period.

Apparently, when the game is released, its physical version will come in two editions – Standard and Collector’s. billbil-kun claims they will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, and will cost US$69.99 and US$199.99 respectively.

The leaker has also suggested that a new announcement about it is “imminent” and may come within the next ten days.

Solid Snake/Big Boss voice actor David Hayter has already played Metal Gear Solid Delta and described it as “spectacular”. Konami has also revealed the redesigned title screen for the game.
