If, like me, you spent your time in Starfield wishing that it had lightsabers – you’re in luck. The iconic weapons from Star Wars are now available to use in the game on both Xbox and PC.

While Starfield does not exist in the same universe as Star Wars, its setting and premise are incredibly similar. As a result, lightsabers are a perfect fit for the game which is somewhat lacking on the melee weapons front.

The lightsabers in Starfield are not part of an official crossover between Disney and Bethesda, instead they’ve been created by the community and are now available on Creations for Xbox and Nexus Mods for PC.

The mod, ‘Immersive Sabers’, adds three “lasersaber” weapons to the game: The Combatech Polaris, The Arboron Novabeam Saber, and the Old Earth Photonsaber. Each saber is available at vendors and can spawn on enemies. They can also be customised at workbenches and can be found with legendary upgrades.

Alongside the lasersabers themselves, the mod also adds a new dedicated perk tree which introduces the ability to deflect projectiles with sabers. Each perk level increases your deflection chance against more powerful weapons.

As the name suggests, the mod is highly immersive and comes complete with all the visual and sound effects that you would expect from a lightsaber. Best of all, the weapons are incredibly powerful and make you feel like a true Jedi when you wield them.

The Immersive Sabers mod is available to download now on Xbox and PC.
