The new Layers of Fear is a comprehensive package of each of the series’ games and DLC. It reimagines the horror of previous instalments using Unreal Engine 5 and shines a new light on their stories from the perspective of The Writer.
It also features numerous puzzles each with spooky twists. During The Painter’s story, you must navigate an ever-changing mansion in order to complete the character’s magnum opus.
However, the game’s puzzles often stop you in your tracks. One particularly eerie puzzle that requires some thought involves a tea party and two dolls.
You will enter a room with two dolls sat in large chairs. One is next to a lamp and another is next to a table with a tea set on it. But exactly what you need to do with the dolls to solve the puzzle isn’t immediately clear.
How to solve dolls’ tea party puzzle in Layers of Fear
This is how to solve the dolls’ tea party puzzle in Layers of Fear:
On the wall is a drawing of the dolls sat around the table. You need to reorganise the room to match the drawing.
Drag the table so it is next to the lamp and underneath the painting on the wall. Move the doll/chair next to the lamp so it is positioned in front of the apple on the left side of the table. Drag the other doll/chair so it positioned in front of the apple on the right side of the table.
Once you have completed these steps, the puzzle should be complete and you will be able to progress to the next part of The Painter’s story.
