Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched today after months of anticipation. Despite receiving strong reviews across the board, players are reporting severe performance issues on PS5, Xbox, and even high-end PCs.

On both PS5 and Xbox, Jedi: Survivor features the choice of Performance or Quality modes. Performance mode outputs at 1440p and aims to achieve 60 frames per second. On the other hand, Quality mode sits at 30FPS but with 4K resolution. Nevertheless, console players are reporting that the game doesn’t achieve a consistent 60FPS in Performance mode.

Posting on the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor subreddit, one Reddit user wrote: “Is it just me or does it not feel like a solid 60 fps on performance mode on PS5?” They elaborated, “It’s not like it occasionally drops below 60, I feel like even just moving around/moving the camera feels kinda shoddy.”

In the replies, other users corroborated the game’s poor performance on PS5. “Yea it’s rough. I bought PS5 version after reading about PC issues. Hopefully patch is soon. Screen tearing and frame pacing issues for sure,” said u/McLort.

Similarly, Xbox users are also reporting significant performance issues. Twitter user @ayfalt said, “I heard that Jedi Survivor was having some performance issues on PC and I was hoping it was isolated there but unfortunately it also looks and feels like dogsh*t on my xbox”.

The situation appears to be even worse for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PC. Even players with high-end rigs are saying the game is failing to perform at an acceptable standard. Reddit user u/RDO-PrivateLobbies said, “Just got done an hour played on a 4080, performance is a joke lol.” Another responded, “I’m playing the game on a AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, RTX 4090 with 32GB DDR5-6000… but performance is all over the place”.

EA has tried to reassure fans that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor‘s performance will improve over the coming weeks as they release patches to fix the game’s problems. In a tweet, EA wrote: “Our first patch will arrive on launch day across all platforms. In the weeks ahead, we’ll deploy patches that will: – Fix bugs – Improve performance – Add more accessibility features”.
