Exoprimal arrived last week on PC, Xbox, PS4, and PS5, and it has given players a large dose of dinosaur fighting action. The third-person shooter from Capcom has gotten off to a modest start on Steam, peaking at just over 4,500 players on 16 July. However, thanks to a day one launch on Game Pass, it is attracting a significant amount of attention. Consequently, players are wanting to play with their friends and are asking “is Exoprimal cross-platform?”.

Exoprimal features PvE and PvP gameplay where players control exofighters divided into two teams competing to complete objectives set by Leviathan, a rogue AI. Players can choose from different exosuits categorised into Assault, Tank, and Support classes, with each having unique weapons and abilities.

The main mode, “Dino Survival,” pits teams against unleashed dinosaurs and mutated prehistoric creatures, requiring them to complete challenges like Dinosaur Cull and VTOL Defense. Progression through the game’s Survival Pass unlocks new cosmetic items, while experience points allow for character upgrades and access to more story missions, combining intense battles with strategic competition.

With its heavy focus on online play, fans want to know if Exoprimal is cross-platform so that they can play with their friends on other consoles. Let’s find out…

Is Exoprimal cross-platform?

So, is Exoprimal cross-platform? Exoprimal features cross-play that allows players to compete against or team-up with other players on different platforms. This means you can fend off dinosaurs with people enjoying the game on Xbox even if you’re on PlayStation.

Is Exoprimal cross-platform

Cross-platform play is made possible thanks to Capcom IDs which link to Xbox and PlayStation accounts. Thanks to Microsoft’s integration of the Xbox network on PC, cross-play is also possible for those playing on Windows.

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to set up parties with your friends on other platforms. So, while you can bump into those on other consoles randomly, you can’t organise a session ahead of time.

It is also possible to turn off cross-platform play in Exoprimal. Simply go to the network tab in the settings menu and disable the feature.
