Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 3 is coming to end. And that can only mean one thing. Season 4 is right around the corner. It kicks off on Wednesday 14th June and will bring many changes with it. New content is also inbound for DMZ. But fans are wondering what will happen to all their DMZ progress when Season 4 begins. So, is DMZ being reset in Warzone 2.0 Season 4?

When Season 2 started, Call of Duty fans were dismayed to learn that their DMZ progress was being reset. The decision frustrated players. After working hard to acquire the mode’s valuable keys, complete missions, and collect contraband weapons, it all disappeared to make way for changes to the mode.

Thankfully, players were able to keep their hard-earned insured weapon slots.

Upon announcing the reset, Infinity Ward stated that they didn’t want to apply a refresh every season. This reassured fans that resets would likely be few and far between.

However, it appears another reset is coming in Season 4 – and players are likely to lose significant progress.

Why is DMZ being reset again?

Infinity Ward has stated the reset is being done “in order to make room for new Mission sets and the new Upgrade [REDACTED].”

Additionally, the company said: “Faction Mission progress will be reset in lieu of the new ability to earn Faction [CLASSIFIED].”

Players are likely to be most upset about the reset of insured weapon slots. Insured weapon slots take a lot of time and effort to unlock and are perhaps the most useful feature in DMZ.

However, Infinity Ward say this is necessary to “introduce new ways to unlock [insured weapon slots]”. Exactly what those new unlock methods will be is unclear.
