Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific has finally entered its second season. And with it comes numerous quality of life improvements and new features. From fresh game modes like Caldera Clash to the toxic Nebula V rounds, there’s a lot for players to wrap their heads around. However, none are potentially more game-changing than the new Personal Decontamination Station (PDS). This ultra rare field upgrade allows players to survive in the encroaching gas for a short period of time. So, let’s take a look at how to use the PDS in Warzone and what exactly it does…
Where to find PDS in Warzone
PDSs are rare and can be very difficult to locate in Warzone. They appear as findable loot and can’t be purchased from buy stations.
This is where to find a PDS in Warzone. First, travel to the ‘Factory’ location on your map. This is home to the new Chemical Factory POI that’s been introduced in Season 2, and it’s your best chance to find one. You can also go to the hand-drawn yellow circles on your map and look for the Research Labs. PDSs can be found in those, too. Lastly, they can also spawn as random loot from boxes – so make sure you’re always keeping an eye out.
How to use PDS in Warzone
As seasoned Call of Duty: Warzone players know, the gas is deadly. Getting caught in it for even a short amount of time can have dire consequences. You’ll either die or lose a substantial chunk of your health and armour. Unless you had a gas mask, it was previously something best avoided. However, the new PDS field upgrade changes how players can interact with the gas. And it even opens the door to utilising the deadly cloud for your own benefit.
This is how to use a PDS in Warzone. Simply find where you want to place your PDS and press L1 and R1 on PlayStation, LB and RB on Xbox, or F on PC. Once placed, the PDS emits clean air that decontaminates the surrounding area for roughly 13 seconds. You and your squad can sit safely within the designated safe area without fear of the gas. It also protects you from the new Nebula V ammo.
The PDS is highly valuable – don’t squander it needlessly. Use it to save your skin in one of the final circles as you wait for the gas to move. Or take advantage by tactically positioning in the gas to get the jump on other players. Like Trophy Systems, it can also be placed on vehicles to protect your squad as you rotate through the gas.
