Fortnite – one of the world’s most popular games – received a groundbreaking update on 22 March 2023 that’s sent fans into a frenzy. Unreal Editor For Fortnite (UEFN) – otherwise known as Creative 2.0 – launched in public beta form. It puts even greater creative control in the hands of players and enables the creation of exciting and immersive mini-games. So, you may be wondering how to play Fortnite Creative 2.0 on console.

However, Creative 2.0 doesn’t work quite as you might expect. It doesn’t exist as a separate entity in Fortnite and you can’t specifically select the mode.

In fact, UEFN is only available on PC. But that doesn’t mean Fortnite players on console miss out on Creative 2.0 entirely. It’s actually really straightforward to play.

How to play Fortnite Creative 2.0 on console

Epic has created three new islands with the purpose of demonstrating the potential of UEFN. They are Forest Guardian, The Space Inside, and Deserted: Domination.

To play these, all you need to do is select them in the “Discover” screen. Follow these steps:

  • From the “Play” screen, press Square/X.
  • Under the “Discover” tab, navigate to the “By Epic” category.
  • The new UEFN Creative islands made by Epic will be listed there. Select the one you want to play.
  • Alternatively, you can insert the Island Code for any UEFN/Creative 2.0 maps to play them. Just navigate to the “Island Code” tab. Use this list of Creative 2.0 map codes.

In addition to the UEFN maps built by Epic, other creators are starting to get in on the action. New Creative 2.0 islands will be released all the time, and inserting their map codes will be the easiest way to access any you want to try.

Can console players use UEFN?

As mentioned, UEFN has only been released on PC. Unfortunately, that means console players can’t use UEFN. However, there are no restrictions on console players enjoying the maps and experiences PC users have created.

Unreal Editor For Fortnite is available to download now on PC via the Epic Games Store.
