The full release of the survival horror classic is set for 24 March 2023 but the previously announced Resident Evil 4 demo is getting a surprise launch today.

Twitch users are reporting that a new Resident Evil 4 advert has appeared on the platform. It ends with the words “demo available now”.

This advert seems to have gone live earlier than planned. Capcom has a scheduled digital presentation – Capcom Spotlight – scheduled for later on today. They have already announced that Resident Evil 4 will feature at the event.

The Capcom Spotlight stream will start at 10:30pm GMT / 2:30pm PT / 5:30pm ET on Thursday, 9 March. The Resident Evil 4 demo will presumably go live after the stream has concluded.

The original Resi 4 is often considered among the best video games ever made – it is a true survival horror gem. And the new remake is set to bring that excellent experience to modern hardware. A free demo is the perfect way to tout the technical and graphical improvements of the remake to potential buyers.

Let’s go over how to download the Resident Evil 4 demo when it goes live later today.

The accidental early airing of the new advert coupled with the Capcom Spotlight event makes the free demo’s launch today all but officially confirmed. It is expected that the publisher’s live stream will be used to publicise the demo before it is made available to players.

With word getting around, fans will want to know how to download the new demo. While it hasn’t arrived on digital storefronts yet, it will presumably be available through the usual process, as outlined below.
