Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 Season 4 is almost here. It launches across all platforms on 14th June 2023 and is bringing plenty of new content with it. That includes numerous changes and new features for DMZ, Warzone‘s popular extraction mode. Perhaps the biggest addition is the medium-sized Vondel map. And players may be wondering exactly how many players are in a DMZ game in Vondel.
Rumours of the new Vondel map surfaced last month. Now it has been confirmed and we know it will arrive in Season 4 for Resurgence and DMZ game modes first.
Vondel is smaller than DMZ’s primary map Al Mazrah but larger than Ashika Island. It is reportedly based on Amsterdam, Netherlands and features 15 points of interest. This includes “a medieval Castle, an abandoned Zoo, a Greek Revival–styled City Hall, and a soccer Stadium”.
According to Activision, players can also expect “densely packed town houses, small alleyway cafés, and a variety of other locales to explore and take tactical advantage of.” All of this is focused around what’s described as “its intricate canal system.”
How many players are in a Vondel match in DMZ?
This is how many players are in a DMZ match on the Vondel map:
Up to 18 players (six squads of three) can be in a game of DMZ on the Vondel map.
This is the same amount of players supported in an Ashika Island DMZ lobby. However, it is far less than the 66 total players supported in Al Mazrah.
With that being said, there will be no shortage of action between enemy operators and countless AI likely to be swarming the map.
The map’s smaller size also increases the chances of encountering other operators. Similarly, it reduces the number of potential spawn locations, so expect a faster paced game more akin to Ashika Island than Al Mazrah.
Players will also have plenty of exploring to do as they get to grips with Vondel and uncover all of its secrets.
