According to the official PEGI website, an unannounced The House of the Dead 2 remake for the Nintendo Switch has been rated in Europe. The page also notes a release date of 14 June 2024, indicating a shadow drop could be imminent.

The PEGI rating system is intended to help European consumers make informed decisions about games before they buy them based on their content.

The House of the Dead 2 Remake has received an 18 label. According to the official guidelines, the 18 label “is applied when the level of violence reaches a stage where it becomes a depiction of gross violence, apparently motiveless killing, or violence towards defenceless characters. The glamorisation of the use of illegal drugs and of the simulation of gambling, and explicit sexual activity should also fall into this age category.”

Developed and published by Sega, The House of the Dead 2 is a light gun rail shooter that was popular in arcades in the late 90s and 00s.

A remake of the original House of the Dead was released for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. This was followed by a PS5 release in 2023.

Per the PEGI website, the remake of the sequel has only been rated for Nintendo Switch, indicating that it will not be available for other platforms like the remake of the first game.

As of writing, the remake has not been officially announced by Sega.
