Horizon Forbidden West is finally here. It’s one of the most anticipated games of 2022 and there’s absolutely loads to get to grips with in the new game. Once you’re done marvelling at the spectacle that is the game’s visuals, it’s time to get down to some gameplay. If, like me, it’s been a number of years since you played Horizon Zero Dawn, you’ve probably forgotten most of the series’ mechanics and controls. With Horizon Forbidden West being such a fast paced game, knowing your way around the controller is essential. Dodging, diving and, most importantly, sliding is key to avoiding devastating attacks. The latter is a fantastic way to reposition while dealing damage. So, here’s how to slide in Horizon Forbidden West.
How To Slide In Horizon Forbidden West
As mentioned, sliding is one of the most effective movement techniques in Horizon Forbidden West. Not only does it allow you to reposition quickly, but you’re able to aim and shoot your bow while doing so. Skilfully merging slides and time-slowing concentration is a winning combination.
This is how to slide in Horizon Forbidden West. While walking, press L3 to start sprinting. Once sprinting, press square to slide. If you want to shoot as you slide, hold L2 to aim followed by R2 to draw your bow. Release R2 to fire. Press R3 as you aim to slow time, allowing you to nail a stylish and precise shot.
Horizon Forbidden West is incredibly generous in how long it allows you to slide for. As a result, mastering it is key to gaining a big advantage over enemies in high-pressure, fast-paced fights. To get the most out of sliding, consider investing in skills like Deep Concentration and Concentration Regen. This will allow you to make the most out of every slide.
