Horizon Forbidden West is finally upon us. It’s shaping up to be one of this year’s biggest hits – and for good reason. It’s a deep game chock full of compelling characters and exciting gameplay. And there’s a lot to get to grips with in Forbidden West. Not the least of which is the plethora of weapons and tools at Aloy’s disposal. While you may’ve previously unlocked lots of gear for Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn, most of it isn’t available at the start of the new game. One of which is the Tripcaster. It allows you to strategically place tripwire traps that can be used to gain an advantage over unsuspecting enemies. But when and how do you get hold of it? Here’s how to get the Tripcaster in Horizon Forbidden West

How To Get Tripcaster in Horizon Forbidden West

There are a lot of different enemies in Horizon Forbidden West. Perhaps the most dangerous of which are the wide variety of dinosaur/animal-inspired machines. Each have their own special characteristics and abilities that make them tough to beat. And having an edge over them is essential. And that’s where Aloy’s selection of weapons and tools come in. One of the most useful is the Tripcaster.

This is how to get the Tripcaster in Horizon Foribdden West. The Tripcaster is given by Thurlis as a reward for defeating the Scrappers during the ‘To The Brink’ quest. Once started, go to Erand’s last known location (as indicated on your map). Then, defeat the Scrappers. Thurlis will then give you the Tripcaster.

Luckily, ‘To The Brink’ is an early quest in Horizon Forbidden West. So you shouldn’t have to wait more than a few hours to get hold of the Tripcaster.
