Fans have now had a couple of weeks to get to grips with Horizon Forbidden West. And it’s shaping up to be one of this year’s biggest hits. It’s a deep game full of different things to do and collectibles to find. The survey drones are one of those collectibles – and they can be some of the trickiest to get. That’s because they fly high in the air and you have to climb equally as high to get to them. The survey drone at Thornmarsh seems particularly confusing at first glance due to the lack of elevated ground nearby. But it can be done. Here’s how to get the Thronmarsh survey drone in Horizon Forbidden West

How To Get Thornmarsh Survey Drone in Horizon Forbidden West

Thornmarsh is located in the south west of the world map. You likely won’t go there until later in the game. Most probably, you’ll pass Thornmarsh and the survey drone on your way to San Francisco during the Faro’s Tomb quest. Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from collecting the drone earlier than that. But you’ll probably have to go a good bit out of your way. The Thornmarsh survey drone is located to the east of the town itself and is difficult to miss.

This is how to get the Thornmarsh Survey Drone in Horizon Forbidden West. Approaching from the east, you’ll pass a sign pointing you towards Thornmarsh. Continue straight along the path. You will pass a tree on your right followed by a pole. Grapple to the top of the pole. Next, jump and grapple to the large, decorated tree next to the pole. From here, look for the even larger central tree. Jump across and grapple to it. Finally, grapple to once more to the outside branch. Once there, wait for the Thornmarsh survey drone to pass then jump and grab onto it. It will lower to the ground at which point you can loot its module.

You should now take the Thornmatsh survey drone module back to The Base and plug it into the console behind GAIA.
